Since the second week of June, Panora Telco's fiber to the home project has been in full swing. Several crews from Mlaskoch Excavating and Utility, Inc. have been methodically working their way up the lake around Burchfield Cove. Using directional boring rigs, the crews are laying main line fiber duct along the right-of-way. The large orange spools are interduct that will contain the long runs of fiber. In the coming week, additional crews will be laying the drops that connect customer homes to the main line fiber. To facilitate this process, technicians from Panora Telco are meeting with all customers in the Panora Exchange to answer questions as well as map out the most logical route between the main line fiber and customer homes. This blog will provide pictures and details concerning the fiber project which is expected to last through mid-year 2010.
